Australia won Gold, the British won Silver and the Americans won Bronze. Germany came fourth, Ireland fifth and Brazil 6th. The Irish Team had a little scare when The Yellow Earl was held over in the examination box. He was a bit stiff and sore after yesterday's performance but on re-examination he was passed by the veterinary panel and the grand jury. Unfortunately the same could not be said for Reddy Teddy, Blith Tate's horse who was individual Gold Medal winner at Atlanta.

Nikki Cassidy was first to jump for the Irish Team. She had one fence down and some time faults. Mr. Mullins was jumping big and bold and was his usual onward, fresh self.

Ginny was next on The Yellow Earl and despite all her efforts, yesterday's performance took it's tole and he had a number of fences down with some time faults too.

Susan had two down with Joy Of My Heart but the performance of the day belonged to Patricia Donnegan on Don't Step Back who was clear and within the time. The big grey has come of age. At seven years of age he gave the performance of the Championships.

The Irish went with four horses and at the end of the competition still had the four horses. This achievement has to be recognised and the fact that they finished fifth is a tremendous achievement.

I am very proud of Virginia, Nikki, Susan and Trish. Obviously we would like to have a medal but at least we didn't let the side down.

Early tomorrow morning we have Trevor Smith on High Scope doing his dressage and Austin O'Connor on Horseware Fabio later in the day.
